Well, here are the highlights about me:

  1. I’m a writer.
  2. I used to be a journalist & an editor (well, still am freelance), but now I write novels.
  3. I’m married to a fantastic guy.
  4. I have two sons, equally as fantastic.
  5. I grew up in the Midwest, USA, and currently live in the Southern USA.
  6. I have a Bachelor’s degree in journalism & a Master’s degree in fiction writing.
  7. I worked at a major metropolitan newspaper for several years, mainly in the Sports Department, where I won a Hearst National Journalism Award & two departmental Associated Press awards for my reporting.
  8. My debut novel, Small as a Mustard Seed, was awarded a grant from the Weisman Fund, was the Grand Prize Winner in the Writer’s Digest International Book Awards, & also won a Silver Medal for Literary Fiction from the Military Writers Society of America.
  9. I’ve done artist’s residencies at Ragdale and Hedgebrook.
  10. I’ve written a series of self-help coloring books (Color Your Way to a Life You Love) and ebooks (Baby Step Your Way to a Life You Love).
  11. I’m currently writing a self-help book about weight loss (eat whatever you want, lose weight) and also a novel about World War II from the point of view of the Germans.
  12. I’m a crock-pot fan.
  13. I’m a yoga enthusiast.
  14. I train in Krav Maga.
  15. I enjoy target shooting with my Kimber .45.
