Okay, well maybe not so random (because I knew everybody involved), but another lovely blogger, Dawn Mena, gave a challenge to her readers to handwrite notes to people because it’s so much more meaningful & personal to the recipient. The challenge was to do 5. So I started, did my 5, & had such a great time, I did 21.
I wrote personal notes (on these beautiful cards I got at a discount store) to 21 people who matter to me. I told them how much they mean to me and how grateful I am that they are in my life. I wrote down 5 things that are fabulous about them.
Not only did I lift them up & encourage them, but I lifted myself up too & made myself feel great by giving them a little gift. Nearly everyone told me how much it meant to them; a couple people told me how my note arrived on a day they needed it most; one person framed the card. All it took was a $4 box of notecards, about 2 hours of my time over 4 days, & a handful of stamps.
I challenge you to do the same. Brighten someone’s day. Brighten your own. Send out some handwritten notes.
